Cosmos Hub launched just last month, and its popularity is growing Cosmos calls itself “the Internet of Blockchains,” and it’s one of the first major decentralized Proof-of-Stake networks to launch. In this model, instead of being secured by miners who solve computational problems using electricity, blockchains are verified by “validators” who purchase cryptocurrency which they “stake.” In recent years, blockchain interoperability has become a hot topic, and is considered one of the major roadblocks preventing progress. The Cosmos Hub is one potential solution, acting as a coordinating blockchain that forms a bridge between different chains, allowing each to detect the state of the other, and exchange assets trustlessly between the networks. It also provides tools which could make it easier for software engineers to build a brand-new, custom-designed blockchain, which in turn can interoperate with a number of others.
