He leads TransLink’s activities supporting portfolio companies with their customers and partners, primarily in Korea. Jay’s active current investments include AirPlug, Chartboost, Epic, Gamevice, nWay, Peel, Penrose, Singular, SoundHound and SquareTwo. Noteworthy past investments include Carbonite (CARB), Enterprise DB (ACQ: Peak Equity), Livescribe (ACQ: Anoto) and YuMe (YUME). Before co-founding TransLink, Jay was the head of Samsung Ventures America. Jay directly led several successful Samsung Ventures investments including AnalogTech (AATI), Continuous Computing (ACQ: RadiSyS), DivX (DIVX), InPhi (IPHI), Intellon (ITLN), MontaVista (ACQ: Cavium), Pure Digital (ACQ: Cisco), Techwell (TWLL) and Teknovus (ACQ: Broadcom). Prior to joining Samsung, Jay was an investment officer with the Silicon Valley office of Vertex Management, a global VC firm headquartered in Singapore. At Vertex, Jay focused on investments in communications, mobile, and Internet, including Aicent (ACQ: Syniverse), GRIC Communications (GRIC), Mobile 365 (ACQ: Sybase), and PayPal (ACQ: eBay).
